Srinagar, (DD) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today held a meeting with several prominent political leaders at Raj Bhawan Srinagar to discuss and review preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025.
Among those present were Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, People’s Conference Chairman Sajad Lone, and CPI(M) leader M.Y. Tarigami, along with other senior political figures. While not an official all-party meeting, the gathering brought together influential leaders across the political spectrum for a focused discussion on Yatra-related arrangements.
The Lt Governor briefed attendees on security protocols, infrastructure readiness, crowd management, health care provisions, and weather-related contingencies. The meeting aimed to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage, which draws lakhs of devotees annually to the Himalayan cave shrine.
LG Sinha urged leaders to support efforts to maintain peace, communal harmony, and logistical coordination throughout the Yatra period. Political leaders, in turn, welcomed the initiative and assured their cooperation in upholding the sanctity and safety of the pilgrimage.
This year’s Yatra is expected to witness a significant turnout, and authorities have already intensified security deployments and route inspections along the Baltal and Pahalgam tracks(DD)
