Indian Army Conducts Medical Camp in Ghar-Majhoor Villages Bolstering Community Health

Jammu :DD, In a significant demonstration of its commitment to civil-military cooperation and community welfare, the Indian Army and Department of Health and Medical Education, J&K, today successfully concluded a free medical camp at Primary Health Center, Ghar – Majhoor, in Chowki Chaura Block, Jammu.

The initiative, part of the Army’s comtinued efforts to reach out to residents in remote and border areas, provided vital healthcare services to hundreds of locals.


The camp, saw a massive turnout of over 250 patients from villages of Ghar, Majhoor and Sandal Sunderbani which included 90 male, 127 female & 42 children.

The dedicated team of medical officers , from civil and armed forces offered consultation, diagnoses and free medicines along with free dental check up by dental hygienist.
“Our aim is to provide accessible and quality healthcare to our fellow citizens, especially in areas where medical facilities might be limited,” stated the doctors overseeing the camp.
“The overwhelming response from the local population highlights the need for such initiatives, and we are committed to continuing our efforts.”
Villagers, many of whom had traveled considerable distances, expressed profound gratitude for the Army’s humanitarian gesture.
“We are very thankful to the Indian Army for organizing this camp,” said an elderly resident. “It is a great relief for us, as it saves us the trouble and expense of traveling to Chowki Chaura or Sunderbani for treatment.”
Beyond providing immediate medical relief, the camp also focused on raising awareness about common health issues which included topics like lifestyle diseases, vector borne disease, basic first aid, hygiene practices, and preventive measures. Health education sessions were conducted, empowering residents with knowledge to maintain better health in the long run.
The medical camp at Ghar – Majhoor is a testament to the Indian Army’s broader “Operation Sadbhavna” initiatives, which aim to foster peace, development, and a strong civil-military relationship in challenging regions. Such efforts not only provide tangible benefits but also reinforce the bond of trust and camaraderie between the armed forces and the local communities they serve.DD
