Leh, DD, Executive Councillor for Agriculture, LAHDC Leh, Shri Stanzin Chosphel, conducted a visit to Matho to review the ongoing works and preparations in advance of the upcoming visit of His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin Rinpoche in July 2025 and the Yerchos Chenmo, scheduled to be held in 2026.
During the visit, the EC inspected the newly constructed Matho Photang, where final stages of construction and finishing works are currently underway.
Departments including PWD, Rural Development, PHE, are actively engaged in executing the necessary infrastructure.
In view of the spiritual and cultural significance of the events, the Hill Council has extended its full support to ensure that all works are completed on priority.
The Hon’ble EC instructed the concerned departments to coordinate closely and complete all pending tasks by the firm deadline of July 8.
Later at Shang village, a public interaction was held where the EC met with local residents and took note of their concerns.
The EC was accompanied by senior officials including the Superintending Engineer PWD Leh, Assistant Commissioner Development Leh, SDM Kharu, and Executive and Junior Engineers from the departments of Irrigation & Flood Control, Construction, PHE, and Electric Division, whose presence facilitated a comprehensive review of the inter-departmental arrangements for the forthcoming religious events.DD
