Iran, Pakistan FMs hold talks on the side-line of ECO Summit in Azerbaijan

Baku,DD: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister have held a closed door meeting on the side-line of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Azerbaijan, as per the international media reports.
“Both the sides discussed diplomatic bilateral relations and the regional issues,” the reports added, while explaining that the two neighbouring countries highlighted an underscored commitment to enhance cooperation within the framework of the ECO.


All 10 ECO member states participated in the meeting that was held in Azerbaijani capital, Baku i.e., Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
The theme of the summit was “New ECO Vision for a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Future,” that was aimed to strengthen economic, technical, and cultural collaboration across Central Asia, South Asia, the Caucasus, and West Asia.
In 1985 Iran, Türkiye, and Pakistan, the Economic Cooperation Organization had established the organisation and later, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan became its members.
Its aim is to shape regional economic policies and initiatives. (AGENCIES)
