Srinagar, (DD): The State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir today carried out search operations at three locations—Jammu, Doda, and Handwara—in connection with an ongoing terror funding investigation.
The searches were part of efforts to uncover a complex conspiracy involving cross-border financing through cryptocurrency, allegedly used to fuel terrorism and disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said the raids aimed to gather crucial evidence and identify individuals involved in inciting youth against the Union of India, posing a threat to national security.
The case is being investigated under FIR No. 12/2022, registered at Police Station CI-SIA Kashmir, under Sections 18, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), along with Sections 120B, 121, and 121A of the Indian Penal Code.
During the raids, the agency recovered several electronic devices and other materials believed to contain key information. Authorities said the evidence is expected to aid in tracking down co-conspirators and others linked to the alleged network.
The SIA emphasized its commitment to dismantling terror support systems, including the growing misuse of cryptocurrency for radicalization and violent activities.
Further investigation is underway.(DD)
