Kargil, DD, Regional Director, J&K, Indira Gandhi National Open University, Dr. HM Rizvi along with the Deputy Director Dr. Abdullah visited the Learners Support Center in GDC Kargil today. Principal GDC Kargil Disket Angmo and the faculty members were present on this occasion.
Dr. HM Rizvi held a fruitful interactive session with the college teaching faculty and expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the local learners support center at GDC Kargil.
Director IGNOU said that IGNOU is one of the largest international universities in the world and currently caters to more than three lac students across the globe.
Later a pre-admission counseling session was held in the College Seminar Hall. IGNOU Coordinator of the college, Mr. Manzoor Hussain presented the welcome speech followed by a power point presentation about INGOU Courses and academic facilities by Dr. Abdullah (Dy. Director) Regional Center IGNOU Srinagar.
In his address to the students, Dr. A H Rizvi advised the students to opt for IGNOU courses not just to add and enhance CV but to build their academic capabilities and excel in the higher education in real sense.
He said that IGNOU has a record number of 12 lac Alumni all over the world. He expressed happiness over the overwhelming response from Kargil towards IGNOU courses and emphasized upon the students to opt for courses relevant to the demands of current age which IGNOU has devised and updated accordingly.
The college administration thanked Dr. AH Rizvi for visiting the college and appreciated his efforts to address the problems at grassroot level.DD
