Shakti Yatra: Ride with Pride 2.0 Biker Rally Receives Warm Welcome by Meta Yuva Bharat Leh at University of Ladakh

Leh: DD, Mera Yuva Bharat Leh in collaboration with University of Ladakh and its NSS Wing received “Shakti Yatra: Ride with Pride 2.0” biker rally at its Leh campus.

The rally is part of a larger initiative to honour the brave martyrs of the Kargil War and Operation Sindur in the lead-up to Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed on 26th July every year.

During the occasion, Dr Sonam Joldan, Dean of Academic Affairs UoL was the chief guest.

Flagged off from Jammu on 18th July, the rally marks its third successful edition, travelling through Udhampur, Srinagar, and Kargil, with its final destination at Hanle, Ladakh.

This initiative is undertaken under the leadership of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

This year’s rally, organised by Shakti Udgosh Foundation, features 26 bikers — 20 women and 6 men — who have joined from across the country.

The ride, named ‘Shakti Yatra’ stands as a tribute to the valour of Indian soldiers and promotes messages of national pride, women empowerment, and youth participation in nation-building.

The riders were accorded traditional Ladakhi welcome with khataks and music at the University campus.

The formal program commenced with an opening speech by Tajamul Ara, Deputy Director, Mera Yuva Bharat Leh, who paid homage to the Kargil martyrs and lauded the riders, particularly commending the women participants for their courage and determination.

The chief guest Dr. Sonam Joldan addressed the gathering and extended his warm wishes and encouragement for the journey ahead.

The bikers, full of energy and pride, shared their experiences with the audience.

From a humble start with just two riders, the Shakti Yatra has grown into a powerful national movement of 26 riders, united by a common purpose and patriotic spirit. The felicitation program concluded on a solemn and proud note with singing of National Anthem.DD
