RAMBAN: DD, Atleast three to four pilgrims of Shri AmarnathJi Shrine have sustained multiple injuries when a bus, they were travelling in, met a road mishap in the district.
As per the officials, a bus bearing registration number RJJ22-PB-1011 was part of the convoy that was carrying pilgrims to Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine.
The driver of the bus lost control and it met the road mishap inside T-2 tunnel Seri in Ramban, leading to the injuries to 3 to 4 pilgrims, as per the reports.
However, other pilgrims remained unharmed.
Soon after the mishap, a local traffic police team led by SSP National Highway, Raja Adil Hamid rushed to the spot, and supervised the joint rescue operation.
The SSP informed that the injured were evacuated from the spot, and they were shifted to the District Hospital Ramban.
Meanwhile, the unharmed passengers of the ill-fated bus were shifted to other vehicles / buses in the convoy as the pilgrim’s proceeds for their respective base camps i.e., Baltal and Pahalgam, he added.
Later, the vehicular traffic was streamlined.
Earlier, the convoys of Shri Amarnath Yatra – 2025 reached Ramban. A total of 3536 pilgrims proceeded for Baltal and Phalagam in tight security arrangements in 132 vehicles.DD
