Two Govt teachers washed away in flash flood in Batote, bodies retrieved

Udhampur: DD, Tragedy struck, when two Govt school teachers today lost their lives in a flash flood that triggered following heavy rainfall on Patnitop – Surinsar road near Jalabi Morh in Batote, Udhampur District.
As per the reports, both the two Govt teachers namely Sanjay Kumar, son of Bodh Raj, and his colleague, Jagdev Singh, son of Kartar Singh from Ghordi were posted in DIET on deputation basis.
“Both the ill-fated teachers washed away in the flooded Nallah, when they were on their motorbike bearing registration number JK14-D-9667 near Jalabi Morh in Batote while passing through a culvert, when its rider lost his control due to flash flood triggered by heavy rains,” the reports said.
The reports said that: “The incident was noticed by the locals, who informed the local police, and accordingly, a massive search operation was launched to rescue the washed away teachers.”


The reports further claim that the teacher’s bodies were retrieved one by one by the rescue teams, and they shifted them to the nearby hospital for legal formalities. The investigation into the incident has been initiated.DD
