Jammu: DD, The Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) announced the formation of its Kishtwar District unit today. Omkar Singh has been nominated as the President, while Shri Desraj as the General Secretary.
The announcement was made by Dr. Charanjeet Singh, State Secretary of J&K UT and in charge of Kishtwar District, after consulting with Dr. Vivek Sharma, President of J&K and Ladakh UT. Additionally, Satish Thakur and Ashish Parihar were appointed as Secretaries of the Kishtwar District Unit.
The executive members of the District unit include Ashish Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Subash Khajuria, Sanjeet Charak, and Roshan Singh.
Activists from the Kishtwar District reaffirmed their commitment to liberating Lord Shankar’s sacred home, Kailash Mansarovar. They expressed their support for the Tibetan cause and called for the restoration of free access to the holy sites of Kailash and Mansarovar, which hold great spiritual significance for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and followers of Bon.
In his address, Dr. Charanjeet Singh emphasized that their mission is to reach every household in Kishtwar District. He announced plans to organize major protest rallies, seminars, and public processions to raise awareness about the plight of Tibet and Tibetans and to highlight India’s role in the matter.
Dr. Vivek Sharma, President of J&K and Ladakh UT, congratulated all the newly appointed office bearers, expressing optimism that they will be valuable assets in strengthening the organization. He condemned China as a nation that disregards human values and continues to create tensions globally. He stressed that no sense of humanity can be expected from China.
Dr. Sharma also stated that the ultimate mission of BTSM is to restore freedom for the Tibetan people and facilitate the dignified return of Tibetan refugees to their homeland.DD
