CRPF Trooper Shoots Self Dead in Anantnag

Srinagar, (DD): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with his service rifle in the Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday morning.

According to officials, the jawan—posted with the C/164 Battalion—used his service weapon to take his own life while on duty.

The reason behind the extreme step remains unknown, officials said. Police have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident(DD)
