Har Ghar Tiranga – Har Ghar Swachhta: Cleanliness drive held at Zanskar

Zanskar, DD: Under the theme “Har Ghar Tiranga – Har Ghar Swachhta: Swatantrata ka Utsav, Swachhta ke Sang”, a cleanliness and awareness campaign started today in Zanskar. The campaign was flagged off by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar, Mohd Hassan.

All officers and officials of the subdivision, along with members of the Merchant Association, Contractor Association, Buddhist Association, and Muslim Association, and NHIDCL took part in the event. NHIDCL and mechanical department supported the drive by providing dumpers for garbage disposal.

SDM Zanskar addressed everyone and explained the aim of the campaign – to celebrate Independence with the spirit of cleanliness and patriotism.

The cleanliness drive began from Dak Bungalow Zanskar. The SDM, along with all staff and participants, moved towards Old Padum and continued the cleaning work up to the Masjid area. From there, the team went towards Khisharak. During the campaign, the SDM also conducted market checking, where plastic bags were seized from a few vendors.

The day’s activities concluded back at Dak Bungalow, where the Merchant Association offered light refreshments to all participants.

At the end, under the leadership of the SDM, all participants held the Tiranga in their hands and chanted “Jai Hind” with great enthusiasm.

The SDM thanked everyone for their active participation, especially the Merchant Association for their hospitality, and appreciated the cooperation of all associations in making the campaign a success.DD
