Two soldiers martyred in Akhal operation in Kulgam

SRINAGAR,DD: Two soldiers, who suffered serious injuries in an encounter with the terrorists in Kashmir valley’s Kulgam District today succumbed.
The operation continues for the consecutive ninth day. The Army had established contact with the terrorists in Kulgam during an anti-terror operation in the forest area of Akhal on August 1.
In the ongoing operation, the security forces continued their searches for the hiding terrorists. During the operation, two soldiers sustained bullet injuries, and later, succumbed.
“Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of the brave hearts, Lance Naik, Pritpal Singh, and Sepoy Harminder Singh, in the line of duty for the nation. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us,” reads an official communication of Chinar Corps of Indian Army on X.
The operation is in progress, and heavy exchange of fire has been reported.DD
