Diplomat Correspondent

Kargil, DD: As part of Mission Clean Indus 2025, the Sankoo Campus of Government Degree College Kargil conducted a series of environmental awareness activities from August 5 to 11, 2025.

The campaign kicked off with an Environment Protection Pledge Ceremony, where students, faculty, and staff reaffirmed their commitment to safeguard nature and contribute actively to a cleaner, greener future.

Throughout the week, the campus was a hub of meaningful activities, including a Cleanliness Drive that mobilized students to clean various areas of the college premises, setting an example of civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.

A documentary screening on Single-Use Plastic Pollution in India offered attendees a critical insight into the growing menace of plastic waste and its devastating impact on ecosystems and biodiversity. To further engage students creatively and intellectually, the campus also organized a Poster-Making and Slogan-Writing Competition on the theme of environmental conservation.

The week-long program successfully instilled a deeper understanding of environmental issues and inspired proactive action among youth.DD
