Badminton Championship 2025 begins in Kargil; ADC Imtiaz Kacho joins as Chief Guest

Kargil, DD: The Badminton Association Kargil, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Kargil, held the inaugural of the 1st Badminton Championship 2025 under the banner of Fit India – Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.

The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from players across the district and was graced by Chief Guest, Imtiaz Kacho Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, along with Guest of Honour Abdul Hadi, LAHDC Councillor Taisuru; and Dr. Murtaza Ali, Director of Physical Education & Sports, University of Ladakh besides senior players and dignitaries.

Chief Guest, ADC Imtiaz Kacho, in his motivational remarks, described games as an integral part of life. He pointed out that while technology and AI may replace many human roles, they can never replace the skills, emotions and spirit of human players. He stressed that both victory and defeat are meaningful lessons; victory encourages while defeat teaches the true essence of life.

He urged the players to embrace true sportsmanship and further encouraged them to play wholeheartedly and keep moving forward in life with confidence and determination. He also presented tokens of appreciation to senior players for their contribution to badminton in Kargil.

In his address, Councillor Abdul Hadi highlighted that participation is more valuable than winning or losing a match as it builds confidence and spirit among youth. He further emphasized that in today’s highly competitive era, hard work is essential not only in sports but in academics and other fields as well. He motivated the students to play with dedication and continue progressing in life with the same spirit of determination and discipline.

Overall, the championship proved to be a remarkable and inspiring event, promoting fitness, discipline, and motivation among the young minds of the district.DD
