ACB Registers Disproportionate Assets Case Against Animal Husbandry Department Employee

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar, (DD): The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against an employee of the Animal Husbandry Department for allegedly amassing wealth far beyond his known sources of income.

According to officials, the case has been registered against Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, resident of Gassu Batapora, Hazratbal, Srinagar. A discreet verification revealed that he had accumulated moveable and immoveable assets worth crores of rupees disproportionate to his legitimate earnings.

During the probe, it surfaced that Dar owned two palatial houses at Gassu Batapora, a three-storeyed commercial building in the main market of the area, a large chunk of land at Gassu Batapora and adjoining Hadoora, besides a luxury vehicle (KIA Seltos).

The value of these properties and expenditures was found to be grossly inconsistent with his income.

Following these findings, a case under FIR number 15/2025 was registered at ACB Srinagar under Section 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018).

Searches are currently being conducted at three residential premises of the accused in the presence of Executive Magistrates, after obtaining warrants from the competent court. Further investigation is underway(DD)
