Artificial Limbs Distribution & Medical Camp Organised by Balnoi Battalion

Balnoi:DD, In yet another remarkable initiative aimed at uplifting and supporting the border population, Balnoi Battalion of Krishna Ghati Brigade organised a large-scale Artificial Limbs Distribution Camp for differently-abled persons and specially-abled children belonging to remote villages along the Line of Control (LoC).

The camp, held at Balnoi Base, was designed to bring much-needed medical and social welfare support to the residents of Balnoi, Sagra, Dabraj, Mankote, and adjoining villages.

These border villages, due to their geographical isolation and proximity to the LoC, often face difficulties in accessing regular healthcare and rehabilitation facilities.

The Indian Army, through this noble initiative, once again demonstrated its commitment to standing shoulder to shoulder with the people of the region.

The highlight of the camp was the distribution of artificial limbs and mobility aids to 24 differently-abled individuals, many of whom were able to stand and walk for the first time in years. The heartwarming sight of beneficiaries taking confident steps with their new prosthetics filled the atmosphere with hope and joy. Families expressed deep gratitude to the Army for restoring dignity and mobility to their loved ones.

Alongside this initiative, a comprehensive medical camp was organised, witnessing the participation of 179 villagers, including women, children, and elderly residents.

The camp provided general health check-ups by a dedicated team of medical professionals, distribution of essential medicines, and guidance on preventive healthcare practices. This holistic approach ensured that healthcare support reached the most vulnerable groups in the community.

The Tehsil Officer from the Department of Social Welfare, accompanied by his team, attended the camp and extended valuable assistance.

The officers carried out necessary documentation to facilitate monthly pensions for disabled persons, thereby ensuring long-term welfare support for differently-abled beneficiaries.

This collaborative effort between the Army and the civil administration highlighted the spirit of inclusive development in the border areas.

Such initiatives go beyond medical aid and physical rehabilitation. They represent the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the dignity, well-being, and empowerment of border residents.

By reaching out to the most marginalised sections of society, the Balnoi Battalion is not only providing healthcare but also strengthening the bond of trust and harmony between the armed forces and local communities.

The event was widely appreciated by villagers, community elders, and beneficiaries who acknowledged the Army’s role in consistently working for the betterment of society in these remote and challenging areas.

The Artificial Limbs Distribution and Medical Camp stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s mission of ensuring inclusive growth, welfare, and humanitarian support in the border belt.

The Balnoi Battalion has reiterated its pledge to continue such endeavours in the future, thereby creating lasting impacts on the lives of people living in the shadow of the LoC.DD
