Kargil, DD: Administrative Secretary, Urban Development and Housing, Ladakh, Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, today visited Old Bazar, District Library Kargil, Dak Bungalow, and Hunderman village to review existing facilities and explore developmental requirements.
At Old Bazar, the Secretary inspected the area and inquired about the current status of facilities in the market.
During his visit to the District Library Kargil, Rodrigues interacted with officials and reviewed details regarding the library’s status, Detailed Project Report (DPR), and other requirements.
He emphasized the vision of transforming the library into a world-class “future library” that would remain open 24×7 throughout the year. He assured full support for necessary infrastructure and resources to realize this goal.
At the Dak Bungalow, the Secretary assessed its condition and upkeep.
Later, Rodrigues also visited Hunderman Broq, where villagers requested the declaration of the museum area as a Heritage Village for better conservation.
They also raised the demand for the restoration of the footpath from the hospital to the museum.
The Secretary encouraged villagers to promote tourism by including more homestays in the village.
