Kargil,DD: PM Govt High School Thasgam, Drass organized a Guidance and Career Counselling Program for students of classes 8th, 9th, and 10th with the aim of creating awareness about future career opportunities after matriculation and higher secondary levels.
The program was graced by eminent resource persons, including Dr. Khadim Hussain, Post-doctorate from the University of Alberta, Canada, and Assistant Professor at GDC Drass; Naziya Wahid, Counselling Psychologist and Ph.D. Scholar at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi; and Zaibun Nissa, NET Qualified and General Secretary of Team Stringmo.
The session began with a welcome speech delivered by Master Mohd. Hussain, followed by moderation and smooth conduct of the program by Master Zakir Hussain. The Headmaster, Haji Akbar Ali, expressed his gratitude with a formal vote of thanks.
During the interactive sessions, the speakers guided students about diverse career opportunities in education, arts, sciences, sports, and other fields, motivating them to pursue their passions with dedication. Especially, Ms. Naziya Wahid not only provided valuable guidance on career choices but also stressed the importance of mental well-being and psychological health for students in their academic journey.
The students actively participated and expressed enthusiasm in learning about various options available after 10th and 12th. They also requested the Headmaster to organize more such sessions in the future.
The program concluded with a high tea and lunch for all participants.DD
