DC Leh Addresses Issues on 66KV Transmission Line ROW under RDSS Scheme

Leh: DD, The Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Romil Singh Donk (IAS), today convened a meeting regarding the Construction of 66KV D/C Kharu-Tangtse, 66KV D/C Tangtse-Pho Brang, 66KV D/C Kiya-Chumathang, and 66KV D/C Chumathang-Korzok Transmission Line under the RDSS Scheme to discuss Right of Way (ROW) issues at VC Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Leh.
During the meeting, the DC Leh directed officers to share the challenges they are facing regarding the project. Officers highlighted issues such as land alignment, forest clearances, Wildlife and other operational concerns. The DC Leh assured that the SDMs and Tehsildars would assisted in resolving these issues and instructed the concerned officers to submit necessary guidelines. He further emphasized that all officers must share updated information regularly to ensure smooth progress of the project.


Later, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Leh, Shabir Hussain took over the meeting. He reiterated that the priority is to expedite the project for the benefit of the public. He also instructed SDMs and concerned officers to submit the final land alignment details and directed them to provide information about private landholdings to the respective agencies, who would then coordinate with landowners. He also stressed the need to complete the settlement of towers as quickly as possible.
The meeting concluded with a strong call for inter-departmental coordination and timely resolution of ROW issues to ensure early completion of the transmission line project, which is crucial for strengthening Ladakh’s power infrastructure and providing reliable electricity to remote areas.
The meeting was attended by key officers including Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Divisional Forest Officer Leh, Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Durbuk, Kharu, and Nyoma, Executive Engineers of PDD and STD PDD Leh, Executive Engineer (Project Division, PDD Leh), and the Chief Manager, PGCIL Leh.DD
