Handwara, DD, In its continued action against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, Handwara Police today seized 07 vehicles involved in the prohibited activity across different areas of Police District Handwara. The seized vehicles include 04 tippers, 02 Tractors and a JCB.

Subsequently, proceedings under the provisions of the (MMDR Act) have been initiated, and further investigation is in progress.
Handwara Police has reiterated that such illegal acts cause loss to the public exchequer and pose a serious threat to the environment. The Police have urged people to refrain from illegal mining and transportation of minerals and warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
