Handwara, DD, Continuing its efforts to combat the menace of drug abuse and trafficking, Handwara Police today apprehended one individual during routine Naka checking at Magam, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Magam.
The individual has been identified as Amir Ayoub Khan, son of Mohd. Ayoub Khan, resident of Marathgam, Handwara. Upon search, police recovered 04 grams of contraband Heroin like substance from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 211/2025 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Handwara, and the accused has been formally arrested.
Further investigation in the case is underway to ascertain the source and possible network involved in the illegal trade.
Handwara Police reiterates its commitment to continue its crackdown against drug peddling and appeals to the public to extend cooperation and share any information related to drug abuse or trafficking in their areas.DD
