Jammu: DD, In a remarkable display of professionalism and dedication, the Jammu Police, under the leadership of SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, has restored ₹50 lakhs to Mohd Baqir.
Baqir a resident of Barsu, Kargil, UT of Ladakh was cheated by Gurpreet Singh and Simranjit Kaur, residents of Laxmi Nagar Sarwal, Jammu.
The accused individuals had sold Mohd Baqir a house, which was under litigation, without informing their family members who were also parties to the civil litigation.
The Bakshi Nagar Police Station, led by SHO Inspector Arun Sharma, swung into action, lodging FIR No. 70/2025 under relevant sections.
Sub Inspector Sunil Thakur, Incharge Police Post Sarwal, conducted the investigation under the supervision of SDPO City West Jammu, Dr Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, and SP City North, Vivek Sharma JKPS and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh.
Through financial investigation, the police revealed that the accused had invested the cheated amount in fixed deposits.
The accounts were frozen, and the investigation was completed on its merits.
The honorable court directed the police station and State Bank of India Sarwal to transfer the amount of ₹50 lacs into Mohd Baqir’s account.
Mohd Baqir has expressed his gratitude to the Jammu Police for their honest, dedicated, and professional approach in restoring his hard-earned money and bringing the accused persons to justice.
It is pertinent to mention here that SDPO city west few months back also restored Rs 62 lacs to another victim of cheating from Hyderabad and public appreciated the professional and honest approach of Jammu Police.
