Handwara, DD, Continuing its efforts to strengthen police-public relations and ensure community participation in crime prevention, Handwara Police today conducted a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Forest Hut, Hangnikot. The meeting was chaired by SHO PS Vilgam and was attended by respectable citizens of the area.

During the interaction, participants were sensitised about the ill-effects of drug abuse and the legal consequences of forest-related crimes. Locals were advised to stay away from such unlawful activities and were encouraged to share any information about suspicious activities with the police for timely action.

The community members also raised their grievances related to policing as well as issues concerning other civil departments. These concerns were patiently heard, and necessary on-the-spot redressal was provided. The participants were assured that remaining issues would be taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate action.

Handwara Police reiterated its commitment to maintain peace, ensure public safety, and work hand-in-hand with the community to curb crime and drug abuse.DD
