Handwara, DD, In its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of narcotic drugs and to safeguard the youth from the ill effects of substance abuse, Handwara Police today carried out a massive wild bhung (cannabis) destruction drive in and around Qalamabad Market. The drive was conducted with the active participation of Revenue Department officials.
During the operation, large stretches of wild bhung plants were identified and destroyed to prevent their misuse in the illegal drug trade. The initiative reflects the firm resolve of Police and Civil Administration to work in close coordination towards making the district free from narcotics.
The local community members expressed appreciation for the timely intervention and assured their cooperation in future initiatives aimed at eradicating drug abuse and related activities from society.
Handwara Police reiterated its commitment to continue such drives in different areas of the district and appealed to the general public to actively support the campaign by reporting any illicit cultivation or drug-related activities in their localities.DD
