Kishtwar:DD, With an aim to improve the quality of investigations and ensure effective enforcement of the NDPS Act, Kishtwar Police today organized a one-day workshop on the Investigation of NDPS Cases at District Police Lines Kishtwar.
The training programme was held under the overall supervision of SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh, JKPS, and coordinated by SP PC Kishtwar, DySP PC Dachhan. Officers including DySP DAR, DySP (P), Inspectors, and PSIs participated in the session.
During the workshop, senior officers delivered detailed presentations on the step-by-step process of NDPS case investigation — from seizure and evidence collection to proper documentation and prosecution.
The participants were sensitized about the legal aspects related to destruction of narcotic crops, forfeiture of drug-related properties, and the importance of maintaining procedural integrity to secure convictions.
The session also featured an interactive discussion where participants shared field experiences, analyzed past shortcomings, and explored strategies to avoid technical errors that often weaken cases in court.
Addressing the participants, SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh, highlighted the need for continuous learning and professional upskilling among investigating officers.
He said that maintaining high investigation standards is vital to achieving stronger conviction rates and reinforcing the fight against drug abuse.DD
