Army Chief Felicitates Actor Lt Col (Hony) Mohanlal for Service, Social Contributions

New Delhi: DD, The Chief of Army Staff felicitated Lt Col (Hony) Mohanlal, India’s acclaimed actor and Honorary Officer of the Indian Army, for his exemplary contributions to society and his enduring association with the Armed Forces.

Mohan Lal, who was conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in May 2009, has consistently upheld the spirit of national service. He notably played a vital role in relief and rehabilitation efforts during the Wayanad disaster in 2024.

Through his ViswaSanthi Foundation, Mohanlal continues to support initiatives in education, healthcare, skill development, and social welfare.

The actor, whose illustrious career spans over four decades and includes more than 400 films across various Indian languages, has been honoured with the Padma Shri (2001), Padma Bhushan (2019), and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award (2025).

In recognition of his continued service and philanthropy, the Army Chief presented Mohanlal with the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card. (KNC)
