Joint Enforcement Drive Conducted by ARTO Kishtwar and ARTO Doda

E-Challaned 76 Vehicles, Initiated Suspension of 02 DLs, and Seized 07 Vehicles — Fine Amounting to ₹2 Lakh

Kishtwar,DD, In a continued effort to ensure road safety and curb traffic violations, the Assistant Regional Transport Officers (ARTO) of Kishtwar and Doda conducted a massive joint enforcement drive at Thathri today.

The operation was led by ARTO Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani (JKAS), and ARTO Doda, Abrar Kiraipak (JKAS), under the overall supervision of Transport Commissioner J&K, Vishesh Paul Mahajan (JKAS).

During the drive, 07 vehicles were seized for serious traffic violations, while 76 e-challans were issued to violators for offences such as overloading, permit violations, plying vehicles without permits, lack of valid fitness or documents, and unsafe driving practices. The total fine imposed amounted to ₹2 lakh.

Additionally, suspension proceedings were initiated against two driving licenses for repeated and reckless traffic behaviour.

The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) reiterated its commitment to uphold road safety norms and announced that similar enforcement drives will continue across the districts to deter violations and ensure commuter safety, especially for public transport users.

Both ARTOs appealed to all vehicle owners and drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations, maintain valid documents, and prioritise public safety to avoid stringent penal action.DD
