Two Drug Peddlers Held with Heroin in Udhampur: Police

Udhampur: DD, Police in Udhampur arrested two alleged drug peddlers near Birma Bridge and recovered heroin from their possession during patrolling duty.

Spokesperson said that a police team of Police Station Udhampur led by its SHO while on patrolling duty near Birma Bridge noticed two persons coming from Supply Morh towards Udhampur city on a scooty bearing registration number JK14L-2202. On seeing the police vehicle the rider stopped at a distance and attempted to turn back, it reads.

Both were apprehended on the spot and identified as Irshad S/O Gulam Qadir R/O Shiv Nagar, Udhampur (rider) and Mohd Arif @ Jugnu S/o Mohd Gulsher R/o Dhanori, Tehsil & District Udhampur (pillion rider), statement reads.

During their personal search, 3.92 grams & 4.54 grams of heroin were recovered from their possession respectively, it reads.

In this regard, FIR No. 363/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur, and further investigation is underway. (KNC)
