Srinagar:TDD, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha flagged off the Indian Air Force’s ‘Vayu Veer Vijayeta’ (Air Warrior Victorious) car rally in Srinagar on Saturday.
The event, organized by the Indian Air Force in collaboration with veterans from the Uttarakhand War Memorial, marks a significant initiative to honor the Air Force’s legacy and inspire the next generation of defenders.
Prior to the flag-off ceremony, LG Sinha engaged in a heartwarming interaction with the air warriors at Raj Bhavan. He extended his congratulations and best wishes to all participants of the car rally, emphasizing the importance of such events in fostering a spirit of national pride and service.
During his address, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the Indian Air Force’s illustrious heritage of valor, courage, and sacrifice. “Serving the nation and its citizens under challenging circumstances is ingrained in the DNA of the Indian Air Force,” Sinha remarked, underscoring the unwavering commitment of air warriors to their duty.
LG Sinha also praised the crucial role played by the Indian Air Force during times of war, rescue operations, and natural disasters. Their swift and effective interventions have time and again demonstrated the force’s indispensable value to the nation’s security and humanitarian efforts.
The ‘Vayu Veer Vijayeta’ rally is not just a showcase of military vehicles and personnel; it carries a deeper purpose.
As part of their journey, the air warriors will make stops at various universities and colleges along the route. There, they will address local youth, sharing their experiences and inspiring them to consider careers in the armed forces. This outreach initiative aims to bridge the gap between civilians and the military, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the armed forces among the younger generation.
Expressing gratitude towards the armed forces, LG Sinha stated, “The nation is indebted to our armed forces, who have ensured a more secure and peaceful environment, enabling India to move swiftly towards comprehensive progress and prosperity.” He emphasized how this security blanket has been crucial in facilitating the country’s rapid development across various sectors.
The Lieutenant Governor also took the opportunity to highlight the significant strides made in strengthening infrastructure and connectivity in border areas over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. These developments have not only enhanced the strategic capabilities of the armed forces but have also brought about positive changes in the lives of border communities.
The flag-off ceremony was graced by several high-ranking officials, including Air Commodore Prabhat Malik (Vayu Sena Medal), the Air Officer Commanding Srinagar; Wing Commander Vijay Prakash Bhatt, the Team Leader of the rally; Tarun Vijay, the Chairman of the rally; and other senior officers.TDD
