Jammu:DD, Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh said on Sunday said that Jammu police are fully prepared to ensure peaceful Diwali celebrations and the smooth reopening of government offices under the Darbar Move next month.

Singh said, urged public cooperation to prevent any attempts by enemy forces to disturb the city’s peaceful atmosphere, adding that Jammu has faced terrorism and infiltration threats for decades.

“All necessary measures have been taken for security during the festival and for the Darbar Move. The support of the people is crucial to maintain peace,” Singh said.

He also urged landlords to complete tenant verification forms for migrant workers and reminded citizens to report unclaimed objects in public areas.

The Darbar Move, a tradition reintroduced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah after being scrapped in 2021, will likely see increased footfall in Jammu this winter.

Singh reassured that Army, BSF, police, and paramilitary forces are on high alert to safeguard the city, but emphasized that public vigilance remains essential. (KNC)
