Anantnag Police Book Eight Butchers for Violating Meat Sale Norms

Anantnag: In a crackdown against unhygienic meat sale practices, Anantnag Police on Thursday booked eight butchers from different areas of the district, including Dialgam, General Bus Stand, Khanabal, Sherbagh, and Janglatmandi.

The shopkeepers were found violating meat sale norms by keeping meat exposed in the open, posing serious health risks to consumers.

FIR numbers 213, 214, 215, 216, 217, 218, 219, and 220 of 2025 were registered against the accused butchers under relevant provisions.

Strict action will continue to ensure compliance with hygiene regulations and safeguard public health. (KNC)
