J&K Tourism Dept Cites Security Concerns for Continued Closure of Doodhpathri and Tosamaidan

Srinagar: DD, The Jammu and Kashmir government has informed the Legislative Assembly that tourist destinations Doodhpathri and Tosamaidan remain closed due to security reasons, despite calls from MLA Saif-Ud-Din Bhat to reopen them.

In a formal written reply by the Tourism Department as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC notes that the matter exceeds the department’s current mandate. A letter from the MLA has been sent to the Deputy Commissioner Budgam for further consideration.

The decision on reopening these sites, which are key to the UT’s tourism economy, is yet to be finalized. (KNC)
