Kishtwar,DD, Continuing its efforts to promote a culture of safety and awareness, the Motor Vehicles Department Kishtwar organized a Road Safety Awareness Session at DIET Kishtwar under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS) and Transport Commissioner J&K, Vishesh Paul Mahajan (JKAS). The session was led by ARTO Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani (JKAS).
The programme focused on equipping teachers with the necessary understanding of traffic rules, pedestrian and cyclist safety, and the life-saving importance of helmets and seatbelts. Participants were encouraged to act as change agents by instilling road discipline and awareness among students.
Addressing the gathering, ARTO Kishtwar Tasleem Wani said,
“Teachers hold a unique position to influence young minds. By spreading awareness and integrating road safety lessons into education, they can help create a generation that values safety and responsibility on the roads.”
He further called upon all schools to establish Road Safety Clubs, aimed at spreading awareness and promoting safe road behaviour at the grassroots level.
