Kabul:DD, Torkham border crossing has been re-opened on Saturday for Afghan nationals returning from Pakistan.
The Afghan-Pakistan border remained closed for nearly two weeks following heavy military clashes between the two neighbouring countries that left hundreds Taliban soldiers and Pakistani soldiers dead.
Amid the escalating tensions, the talks were held by the representatives of Afghanistan and Pakistan. However, these bilateral talks collapsed without yielding any results.
Although the situation remained calm, the Pakistani side, as per Tolo New English, the Torkham border was opened for the Afghan families to cross into their nation (Afghanistan).

These families were evacuated from their homes in Pakistan and kept in the temporary shelters at Jamrud (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) before being shifted to their native country, Afghanistan. More details are awaited. (Agencies)
