K.K. Ahmad Kutty Musliyar Kattippara Passes Away

Kozhikode: DD, Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama Central Cabinet Member, President of the Sunni Management Association, Vice President of Markazu Saquafathi Sunniyya, and Senior Faculty at Jamia Markaz Islamic University, K.K. Ahmad Kutty Musliyar Kattippara, has passed away. He was 80 years old.

The funeral prayer was held at 8 a.m. at Markaz Masjidul Hamili and again at 1 p.m. at Chembra Juma Masjid. He was residing at Chembra Kunda, Kattippara, near Thamarassery, Kozhikode.

Born in 1945 into the Kuruppanakkandi family of Mankad, Kozhikode district, he was the son of Kunhayan Kutty Haji and Imbichi Ayesha Hajjumma. He studied up to the seventh grade at Iyyad U.P School and pursued religious studies at Mankad, Iyyad, Tripanachi (near Palakkad), Urulikunnu Mosque (near Koduvalli), Aakkode Juma Masjid, Aikkarappadi Puthuppadam, Panayathil Mosque (Parappanangadi), Chaliyam Juma Masjid, and Vellur Bakhiyathus Salihath.

His prominent teachers included E.K. Hassan Musliyar, Imbichiyali Musliyar, Kuttippuram Abdullah Musliyar, P.A. Ahmad Musliyar, Ustadul Asatheeze O.K. Sainudheen Kutty Musliyar, and Sheikh Hassan Hasrath. He obtained the Moulavi Fazil Bakhavi degree in 1972.

He began his career in Islamic teaching at the Darul Uloom in Karuvanpoyil, near Koduvalli. Later, he served as a teacher in Vadakara Adakkatheruvu, Annassheri, and Kannittamakkil near Elattil Vattoli. Accepting the invitation of Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, he joined Jamia Markaz, Karanthur, as a Faculty member in 1988.

He served as Vice President of several major organizations, including Samastha Kerala Sunni Educational Board, Kerala Muslim Jamaath, Markazu Saquafathi Sunniyya, and Sunni Jamiyyathul Muallimeen. He was also the President of Al-Ihsan Institutions, Kattippara, and held leadership positions in various other organizations and mahalls. Earlier, he served as Vice President of Samastha Kerala Sunni Yuvajana Sangham.

He is survived by his wife Bee Fathima Hajjumma, and children Muneera, Shareefa, Habeeba, Sumayya, Abid, Abdurrahman, and Sahl Saquafi. His sons-in-law are Muhammad Baqavi, Abdussamad, Salam Darimi, Shukkoor, Basheer, and Salwa.DD
