Kishtwar,DD, The 350th Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Shah Asrar-ud-Din Sahib (R.A), one of the most revered Sufi saints of Kishtwar, was celebrated with great religious fervour, devotion, and spiritual enthusiasm at Astaan Sharief Chowgan, Kishtwar, today.
Thousands of devotees from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and neighbouring states thronged the shrine to pay their respects and seek spiritual blessings. The celebrations commenced with special prayers, recitation of Darood Sharif, Qur’anic verses, and Naat-e-Rasool (S.A.W), followed by religious discourses highlighting the saint’s message of peace, brotherhood, and unity.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the District Administration Kishtwar in coordination with the J&K Waqf Board and local Auqaf Committee to ensure the smooth conduct of the Urs. Adequate security, traffic regulation, power and water supply, sanitation, and medical facilities were put in place for the convenience of devotees.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, along with senior officers from civil and police administration, visited the shrine and reviewed on-ground arrangements. The officials also interacted with devotees and management committees to ensure a hassle-free observance of the Urs.
Religious scholars and speakers, during their sermons, threw light on the life and teachings of Hazrat Shah Asrar-ud-Din Sahib (R.A), emphasizing his role in spreading the message of Islam, spiritual knowledge, and communal harmony across the Chenab Valley.
The Urs concluded with Dua-e-Makhsoos for peace, prosperity, and wellbeing of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Asrar-ud-Din Sahib (R.A) is one of the most significant religious events in Kishtwar, reflecting the region’s deep-rooted Sufi traditions and its centuries-old culture of coexistence and mutual respect.DD
