DC Kupwara hands over Cheques to Families of Road Accident victims

KUPWARA, DD, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, today presented cheques worth Rs. 1 lakh each to the Next of Kin (NoK) of two individuals who tragically lost their lives in separate road accidents, under the J&K Road Accident Victim Fund.

The sanction for financial assistance to the families was approved by a five-member committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner, which includes the ARTO, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Account Officer to the DC Office, and Deputy SP Traffic.

The J&K Road Accident Victim Fund 2022 aims to provide swift financial relief to the dependents and legal heirs of those killed or injured in road accidents involving passenger and private vehicles.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all concerned officers to ensure the swift resolution of cases related to road accident deaths and injuries, to facilitate prompt compensation under the scheme.

He also emphasized the importance of promoting awareness about the fund and establishing a single-window clearance system to expedite the disbursal process.DD
