KATHUA: DD, A habitual criminal was today booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Kathua District for his involvement in various criminal activities.
He has been identified as Shammi Kumar, son of Baldev Raj, resident of village Buddhi, Kathua District.
In a statement said that Shammi was apprehended as he was involved in various criminal activities and booked under Public Safety Act 1978 (PSA).
Immediately, a team led by SHO Police Station Kathua Inspector Sandeep Chib under the close supervision of Additional SP Kathua, Rahul Charak JKPS and DySP Headquarters Kathua Ravinder Singh apprehended the person, who has been booked in four different criminal cases.
In order to prevent the illegal activities within the district, a “dossier” was prepared against the accused person and sent to the District Magistrate Kathua for his detention under Public Safety Act- 1978 (PSA).
Therefore, the District Magistrate Kathua issued a detention warrant against the accused person under the Public Safety Act 1978.
Subsequently, the warrant in R/o of Shammi Kumar S/o Baldev Raj was executed today and lodged at District Jail Udhampur to curtail his illegal activities.DD
