Many in Israel Defend Detained Soldiers Terming Their Alleged ‘Act in Self-Defence’

Tel Aviv:DD, The Israeli authorities have detained 10 Israeli soldiers for their alleged role in sexual abuse of the Palestainan detainees.
However, five of ten detained soldiers were set free, following initial investigation against them, for alleged involvement in sexual abuse of the prisoners/detainees.
The detention of soldiers has sparked a debate in Israel demanding that their action was in self- defense, and hence, they shall not be punished, stated the media reports.
The far-right groups have held protests in support of the soldiers detained for investigation purpose, after a Palestenian prionser claimed that he was abused sexually allegedly by the Israeli soldiers. (AGENCIES)
