Army Public School Damana Celebrates Sports Day

Damana: “Champions are made not just through training, but through the dreams and determination within.”
Army Public School, Damana celebrated a thrilling and vibrant Sports Day amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie at the ground of 20 Punjab Unit.
Brig Kumar Anand, Commander, Chenab Brigade and Chairman APS Damana, graciously presided over the occasion as the chief guest whereas Surbhi Sonal Anand, Chairperson, FWO Chenab Brigade, added grace to the gala day as the guest of honour.
The event was further dignified by the presence of Commanding Officers of various units and a large gathering of enthusiastic parents.
The guests and dignitaries were formally welcomed by Ekta Gupta, PGT English and Mrs Manu Kumari, PGT Hindi.
This was followed by the Torch of Glory, carried by the National and International Sports achievers of the School, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship. Subsequently, the Sports Vice-captain administered the Oath to the athletes.

The meet was then formally declared open by the Chief Guest with the release of balloons, marking joy and merriment.
Thereafter, Vaibhav Sharma (XI), Vice Head Boy, and Suman Parihar (XI), Vice Head Girl presented School Report highlighting the exemplary achievements of the school.
The Sports Day commenced with an impressive and well-synchronized March Past by the contingents of NCC, Scouts and Guides and the students of the four houses – Amartya Kumar Sen, Dr Hargobind Khorana, Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman and Rabindranath Tagore.
The students showcased remarkable energy and enthusiasm through a variety of field events like High Jump, Shot Put, Javelin Throw, Discus Throw.
The students from classes III to XI displayed immense sports zeal as they competed in track events such as 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m, and the 4×100 m Inter-house Relay Race.
Adding to the excitement, the parents and teachers also participated in events like Tug of War and Pick-up-the-Cone, reflecting their multifaceted spirit. The atmosphere reverberated with cheers and applause as the houses encouraged their participants.
The enthusiastic parents, present in large numbers, constantly motivated the athletes, creating an environment of resilience and positivity.
During the Prize Distribution Ceremony, the Winners were felicitated with Medals, Trophies, and Certificates. Dr Hargobind Khorana House was adjudged Overall Best House.
Mrs Pushpinder Kaur, Principal of the School expressed her deep appreciation and immense satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the event.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Namish Mengi (V) and Trisha Yadav (V), Junior Head Boy and Head Girl respectively.
The day culminated with the choral singing of the National Anthem.DD
