Rajouri : Indian Army conducted a Medical and Veterinary Camp on 21 December 2025 at Village Kalal, Rajouri district, as part of its continued efforts to support the locals and promote community and livestock welfare in remote areas.
Approximately 32 animals received veterinary services including health check-ups, vaccination, deworming and treatment for common diseases. The veterinary team, with officials from the Animal Husbandry Department of J&K Government, ensured comprehensive care for livestock. In addition, the locals were educated on sustainable livestock management practices, disease prevention and nutritional care to enhance productivity and animal health.
Simultaneously, a Medical Camp for villagers was conducted, providing on-the-spot medical consultations, treatment of common ailments and distribution of essential medicines, benefitting more than 93 locals. With the onset of winter, special attention was given to treatment of cold-related ailments, respiratory infections and seasonal illnesses. The locals were also educated on basic home remedies and use of first aid kits.
The initiative was well received by the local population and strengthened civil–military cooperation while reinforcing the Indian Army’s commitment to community welfare in border areas.DD
