Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President led the Senior Party Leaders, District Presidents, Block Presidents and leaders to observe the Party’s 140th Foundation Day at Srinagar Party Office and highlighted the supreme sacrifices, selfless services of the Party towards the Nation building, people empowerment, maintaining unity and harmony in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC President reaffirmed the Party’s commitment under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to uphold the values of Constitution of India saying that every Congress worker and leader feels bound to fight to safeguard Constitution and save the democracy and democratic institutions, which stands guarantee to justice and equality.
JKPCC President conveyed heartfelt greetings to every Congress Worker, whose unwavering commitment and hard work continue to sustain this magnificent movement, reflecting that Congress is the only unifying force in the country, which stands guarantee to protection of constitutional rights of every individual living in the country irrespective of his/her caste, region, religion or colour.
Karra urged the Party workers and Block Presidents to rise to the occasion to ensure that Congress gets further strengthened at grass roots, besides making every effort to serve people, which will remain the core of India National Congress. “We have fought against divisive forces and we will ensure that the Forces inimical to secular fabric, unity and harmony are defeated,” Karra added.
The participants joined Tariq Hameed Karra to sign the pledge, he (Karra) read out the pledge reiterating to make every effort to save the Constitution.
Later, the JKPCC President presided over a monthly review of Blocks across the Kashmir region in which Block Presidents from all the districts were present and gave feedback to the PCC President with respect to their organizational activities on the ground.
They also briefed PCC President about the current socio-political scenario obtaining in their Blocks and detailed out the political activities and worker’s meetings conducted during the current month in their Blocks. Karra emphasized to rejuvenate the BCCs (Block Congress Committees) given the fact, BCCs play a crucial role in shaping and restructuring the Party at all levels.
On this occasion, JKPCC President distributed appreciation certificates amongst the Blocks Presidents and workers for their active involvement in the Party’s indigenous movement “Hamari Riyasat Hamar Haq” launched for restoration of complete statehood to J&K and congratulated them for their tireless efforts and enthusiasm to make this movement successful.
