Kishtwar: Late Rifleman Ravi Kumar Memorial Cricket Tournament that was organised under Operation Sadbhavna today concluded successfully here at the iconic Chowgan Ground, with the event achieving astounding success.
As per a statement, the tournament featured exclusively Kishtwar district cricket teams and saw participation from 114 men’s teams and 2 girls’ teams. The tournament aimed to inspire youth towards nation-building and carry forward the legacy of Late Rifleman Ravi Kumar, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous), the pride of the region.
The closing ceremony featured a soulful song by singing sensation, Samridhi Sen (of Indian Idol fame) and an impressive Wushu performance by kids of the local Wushu academy, followed by prize distribution celebrating the talent and spirit of Kishtwar’s youth.
In the scintillating final match with a nail biting finish, the Bar Association Team defeated Warriors Kishtwar by one wicket.
All rounder Mehmood Ur Rehman of Bar Association was adjudged man of the match and the Tournament.
The closing ceremony was marked by the presence of Subhash Chander, Father of Late Rifleman Ravi Kumar, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous) and presided over by Commander, 5 Sector Assam Rifles.DD
