Mendhar,TDD, Security forces including local police today claimed to have apprehended a suspected person with two grenades in Surankote.
Sources said that the security forces were already on alert for the last two days, amid searches in Surankote, following credible inputs about the suspicious movement.
They said that a pedestrian was noticed moving suspiciously from Surankote towards Dhundak. The security personnel, including Rashtriya Rifles (RR) units, CRPF, and Surankote Police, became suspicious of his movement, and they stopped him for checking at a naka at Dhundak.
“During the checking, two grenades were recovered from the person,” they added. The apprehended person has been identified as Abdul Aziz, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Hari, Surankote.
The person was taken into custody and a case against has been registered, as per the sources. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.TDD
