Udhampur :-In a display of unity and national pride, the Subsidiary Training Centre of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, witnessed the induction of 312 fresh recruits hailing from India’s eastern states. The grand Attestation-cum-Passing out Parade, held here today , marked the culmination of an intensive 44-week training program.
Inspector General Rajesh Kumar Gurung presided over the ceremony, where recruits from Andhra Pradesh- 120, Odisha-190 and West Bengal-2 took their solemn oath to serve the nation. The event showcased not only military precision but also the rich cultural tapestry of India.The Chief Guest honoured the recruit Constables by giving them trophies for their excellent performance in various fields. Recruit Constable Bepada Durga Appa Rao stood first in Drill, Rectt/Constable Jitendra Sahu secured first position in shooting and Rectt Constable Ilati Madan secured first position in physical ability and PT.Sonam Shering, Commandant (Trg/Estt) welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The Chief Guest addressed the recruits and wished them a bright future. Expressing his firm belief, he said that these brave Praharies will bring glory to the Border Security Force and their parents by protecting the country’s borders with full passion, enthusiasm and honesty.During the passing out ceremony, senior administrative officers of District Udhampur, eminent citizens of the surrounding area, senior officers of Central Police Forces, teachers of various schools, school children, families of the recruit constables and all the officers of the centre, other ranks and their families attended the parade and encouraged the recruits.After the passing out parade, the recruits of the centre presented the various Indian martial arts i.e. Lathi Khela of West Bengal, “Karra Samu” of Andhra Pradesh and “Kalaripayattu” of Kerala State. All these martial arts will be displayed by this team of recruits on the occasion of National Unity Day on 31st Oct 2024 at Kevadia (Gujrat) which is matter of pride for this Centre. Colourful patriotic cultural programme was also presented by the children of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Govt Higher Secondary School, Jaganoo which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience present and they applauded them with thunderous applause. The band squad of the Border Security Force enthralled the people present with its melodious tunes.
