Kishtwar: The Indian Army continues its sustained efforts to empower the youth of Kishtwar district by encouraging active participation in sports, education and creative pursuits, thereby fostering unity and harmony beyond religion, caste, creed or belief. In furtherance of this commitment, the Indian Army has established a Youth Activity Centre at Village Chhatroo in January 2026 under Operation Sadbhavana.
The newly established centre aims to provide a structured and supportive platform for local youth to nurture their creative potential, enhance skill development and explore opportunities for higher education. Designed to promote holistic growth, the facility seeks to inculcate values of discipline, unity, self-confidence and pride among the youth of the region.

The Youth Activity Centre is equipped with a Computer Training Lab, a Library and basic sports facilities, catering to both intellectual and physical development. This initiative addresses the long-standing need for accessible sports and computer training infrastructure in the area, while constructively channelising youthful energy towards positive and nation-building activities.
The establishment of the centre has been widely appreciated by the local populace and the civil administration. It is envisioned as a catalyst for the overall socio-economic development of the area and a meaningful step towards empowering the younger generation. The initiative further strengthens the enduring bond between the Awam and the Jawan, reinforcing mutual trust, cooperation and shared responsibility towards building a progressive and harmonious. DD
