Udhampur:TDD,Police today claimed to have arrested two narcotic smugglers during a checking at Jakhani.
Acting on inputs, a police team stopped a vehicle for checking at Jakhani.
During naka checking, the police team recovered 20 kg of poppy straw like substance from a truck bearing registration number PB06G-2255.
Police arrested one interstate narco smuggler (driver of the vehicle).
He has been identified as Sarabjeet Singh, son of Gurdyal Singh, resident of Balagan, Gurdaspur, Punjab.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 423/2024 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Udhampur.
Further investigation is going on.
In another case, the police team of Police Post Tikri while performing routine naka checking at Tikri naka point stopped one vehicle bearing registration number JK01AJ-7485 for checking purpose.
On frisking of the driver of the vehicle namely Mohammed Ashraf, son of Mohammed Ismail, resident of Chanpora, Srinagar, 16.31 grams of heroin (chitta) like Contraband substance was recovered from his possession, who has been arrested on spot.
On this, a case vide FIR No.
229/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Rehambal and further investigation was set into probe.TDD
