Winter Training Programme: 60 teachers from six educational zones participate in DIET Leh

Leh, Ladakh (India): The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, has launched its Winter Training Programme on English Teaching Skills and Lab Integration for Class VIII teachers, aligned with the CBSE Poorvi textbooks.
The programme has brought together 60 teachers from six educational zones – Nyoma, Durbuk, Nubra, and others -organised into two batches of 30 participants each.

The training commenced, with active participation from DIET faculty and a strong emphasis on recognising the contribution of RTT-certified indigenous trainers facilitating the programme.
These trainers – Stanzin Odzer, Sonam Palden, and Tundup Namgyal—have undergone more than three years of rigorous training under the RTT–TTT Programme, an initiative of LAHDC Leh, implemented by Golden Mile Learning under the leadership of Dr. Neepa Oza, Programme Director.
Golden mile learning is providing subject expertise, academic leadership, and comprehensive implementation support for the DIET Leh Winter Training Programme.

The inaugural session was addressed by Mirza Mehdi, Principal, DIET Leh, who welcomed the participants, subject experts, officers from Golden Mile Learning, and the RTT indigenous trainers.
He appreciated Golden Mile Learning for its sustained academic partnership and effective on-ground implementation.

The programme also marks the formal beginning of the professional facilitation journey of RTT-certified indigenous trainers, shortlisted from nearly 500 teachers across all educational zones, reinforcing a strong model of local academic leadership.
The day one featured DIET-led sessions on Child Safety and CCDRM by Dorjay Angchok (Nodal Training Officer – Leadership, DIET), Communication Styles by Irfan Ul Aslam (DIET), and Lab Integration by Tsering Tundup.

From Day Two onwards, the training is being academically supported and facilitated by Golden Mile Learning, with a core focus on English tenses, CBSE Poorvi textbook integration, and lab-based pedagogy.

The programme aims to strengthen classroom practices, promote effective lab integration, and build a sustainable ecosystem of locally empowered, professionally certified teacher trainers, contributing to long-term academic excellence in the region.DD
