Coordinated BLA Attacks Shake Balochistan; 21 Killed, Including 10 Security Personnel

New Delhi: Fighters of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Saturday carried out multiple coordinated operations against security forces in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

In these operations, reports claim that at least 10 security personnel were killed, while 11 civilians also lost their lives in a series of deadly attacks carried out simultaneously across Quetta City, Nushki, Chagai, Dalbandin, Pasni, Gwadar City, and Kech areas of Balochistan.

As the attacks targeted security positions and police posts, reports suggest that fierce encounters erupted at various locations, leading to the deaths of 10 Pakistani security force personnel and 11 civilians.

These attacks were reportedly carried out as part of the second phase of “Operation Herof,” meaning “Revenge” or “Black Storm” in the Baloch language.

Suicide Bombings

Pakistani Army camps and police posts were allegedly attacked by BLA suicide bombers in what were described as “revenge attacks,” in response to alleged disappearances and human rights violations in Balochistan.

Pakistan has witnessed an armed struggle for decades in Balochistan, which led to the formation of the BLA in 2000. However, the broader Baloch independence movement dates back to the period between 1973 and 1977.

Deadly Incidents in the Past

In September 2025, Pakistan’s paramilitary Frontier Corps headquarters in Quetta was targeted with a car bomb, killing 10 people and injuring more than 30. Several other similar attacks have also been carried out in Pakistan, including assaults on foreign nationals.

Following these incidents, the Pakistan Army had launched a series of crackdowns against insurgent groups operating in the region, and the forced disappearance of innocent people in Balochistan.
These disappearances and atrocities against civilians also triggered mass-agitation across Quetta, Balochistan.
